Christians United for Al Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth'?

Well, allow me to start off by congratulating all pro-environmentalists, both Christians and non-Christians, who are willing to throw their money away for higher gas prices 'for the sake of this planet'. The real inconvenient truth is that these individuals are willing to stand by and watch as hard working Americans struggle to make ends meet and barely able to afford to drive to work due to the rapidly increasing cost of gasoline. Never mind that many of these people are stuck with what they have for a vehicle and don't have the means to go out and purchase a hybrid car.

In the past, it was expected that the liberal left were the ones selling and buying into the 'global warming' controversy. Now, a number of Christian Evangelicals have gone out and bought 'titles to swamp lands in Florida'. Unfortunately, you now have leaders from the Christian community toying publicly with the idea of 'global warming'.

Needless to say, if the environmentalists win, our economy will suffer. It is the goal of the environmentalists for our country to get in line with the Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto Protocol does not place restrictions on developing/third-world countries such as China and India who are heavy users of fossil fuels and one of the most populous countries in the world. The expectation to reduce the use of fossil fuels will be imposed on fully developed countries, such as the United States. Higher fuel prices is the most likely method to be used to discourage the use of fossil fuels. See the following article for additional information:

Fortunately, we now have credible scientists, with expertise in climatology and environmental studies, along with other leaders from the Christian community publicly refuting the theory of 'global warming' and objecting to the cause of Evangelical Climate Initiative.

• The Interfaith Stewardship Alliance, formed in opposition to the ECI, officially released a statement last week, endorsed by 100 evangelical leaders and scientists. The following are excerpts from this statement:
  

  • Reducing carbon dioxide emissions would have at most an insignificant impact on the quantity and duration
  of global warming and would not significantly reduce alleged harmful effects.
  • Government-mandated carbon dioxide emissions reductions not only would not significantly curtail global
  warming or reduce its harmful effects but also would cause greater harm than good to humanity-especially
  the poor-while offering virtually no benefit to the rest of the world's inhabitants.

Another interesting consideration is that apparently, the current high temperatures are not the hottest on record. In fact, the hottest temperatures of the summer occurred before anyone could even spell the word 'global warming':
