"Keys to the Unsearchable Riches of Christ" Preached by John Hagee, Cornerstone Church - Sermon Notes By AJSktrgl
The following are the notes I took from Pastor Hagee’s sermon at Cornerstone Church on June 25, 2006:
Mark 9:23 (New King James Version)
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe,[a] all things are possible to him who believes.” [biblegateway.com]
Mark 11:22-23 (New King James Version)
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. [biblegateway.com]
- The keys to healing and the impossibilities, and everything Heaven offers, comes by faith in God.
- Faith and fear do not operate in the same sphere.
- You will do only what your faith directs you to do.
- If you only see, in the natural, what can be done, you will never live in the supernatural.
- By faith, supernatural healing, prosperity occurs and by faith, the rapture of the church will occur.
- When you live by the text of the Bible, you are living in the supernatural.
- No one can say that God has failed me.
Hebrews 11:1 (New King James Version)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [biblegateway.com]
- It only takes a minute of faith to move mountains.
- Faith is not based on your feelings. For example, there are times where you are carnal (living in the flesh, not in the spirit) and you might not feel saved, but by faith, you know that you are saved. As a result, faith is not a feeling, it is tangible (the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen).
- God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
- What God has done in the past, God can do today: God still answers prayers and heals.
- What God has done in the past, God can do today: God still answers prayers and heals.
Matthew 9:19-21 (New King James Version)
19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples.
20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” [biblegateway.com]
- Mathew 9:19-21 an example of desperate faith., where the woman was healed as a result.
- NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!
- Do not fear the enemies of the future. God is already there conquering your enemies.
- Release your business (commercial business) to the Lord. Your business will fail if you try to run it on your own and in the flesh.
- Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
- Are you worried about a lack of expertise? Consider this:
- The Titanic was built by "experts" but it still sank.
- Noah's Ark was built by faith by an amateur and it held.
- The Titanic was built by "experts" but it still sank.
- The Lord gives you vineyard that you didn't plant (the Lord blesses you in ways that you don't expect).
- The object of your faith is critical to your success. The object of your faith is God.
- In San Antonio, many people are wearing the crucifix and have faith in that crucifix (by kissing it during times of troubles); Jesus is more that a piece of Jewelry - This type of faith is futile.
- Do not trust in your knowledge, wealth, etc, but trust in the living God.
- Faith needs to be in the process of development.
- Don't be a crisis Christian. (Futile to exercise your faith, read the Bible, and pray only during crises)
- You need take time to develop faith. (For example, you can't get saved one day and expect to be like Billy Graham the very next day)
- Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.
- The Word of God is the source of life itself.
Proverbs 3:7-9 (New King James Version)
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh,[a]
And strength[b] to your bones.
9 Honor the LORD with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your increase; [biblegateway.com]
- If you want God to do something supernatural for your life, business, health, etc., you need to do the following:
- Read and feast in God's Words
- Obey God - Obey the 10 Commandments
- Read and feast in God's Words
- Psalms 33 (Read this)
- Iniquity - sinning with the knowledge and awareness that what you are doing is wrong. You will not experience God's supernatural blessings until you repent and ask for forgiveness.
- Healing is in the power of the Scriptures.
- The Scriptures is the umbilical cord between yourself and God.
- Psalm 91 (Read this)
- God will not fail you.
- Cornerstone Church has available healing scripture on tape. The church has received testimonies of people being healed by listening to God's word on tape.
- The mind is renewed and the body restored by hearing the word of God.
- Satan may whisper to you that you don't have enough faith to do something or that you are weak. All you need to do is remind Satan of Romans 12:3 (That God has provided each one of us with a measure of faith).
Romans 12:3 (New King James Version)
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. [biblegateway.com]
- Faith can see into the future. Joseph had faith that Egypt was not the land promised to the nation of Israel. As a result:
Hebrews 11:22 (New King James Version)
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.[biblegateway.com]
- At the same time we can have faith that the rapture will occur and that the dead in Christ will rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 (New King James Version)
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. [biblegateway.com]
- In the eyes of faith, instead of by the flesh, you can see mountains of impossibility cast into the sea.
- The 7 kinds of faith discussed today:
- natural faith - Everyone has this type of faith. Examples would be that the doctor knows the difference between the tonsils and the appendix or that the bank is depositing your money in the correct account.
- little faith - This is like the faith that the sparrows have. The sparrows know that God will feed them and they don't worry about it. Little faith is knowing that God will take care of your needs today.
- mustard seed faith - Contrary to what is often taught, the mustard seed indicated in Mathew 17:20 isn't necessarily always related to size (yes the mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds which grows to become a huge mustard plant, but the seed is absolutely pure. You can't mix it with other substances without the mustard seed overpowering everything within the mixture.)
- great faith - Faith spoken from a distance (Mathew 8:5-10). Such as in the case of the centurion in Matthew 8:5-10. This is the belief that God said it, therefore, I believe it.
- measure of faith - (Romans 12:3) Given by God. You need to read the Word of God so that your faith can increase.
- faithless faith - Demonstrated by Thomas in John 20:27-29. This is the type of faith where people have to see it to believe it. In this case, you will doubt even when you do see it.
Matthew 17:20 (New King James Version)
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief;[a] for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. [biblegateway.com]
Matthew 8:5-10 (New King James Version)
5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”
7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! [biblegateway.com]
Romans 12:3 (New King James Version)
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. [biblegateway.com]
John 20:27-29 (New King James Version)
27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas,[a] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” [biblegateway.com]
- God can see your faith by what you do and say.
- Faith in God needs to be aggressive.
- When God puts you in the fire, he doesn't send someone else to help you, he shows up Himself.
- Mark 11:23 (Read)
- When you meet God's conditions, only miracles can happen.
- Remind yourself that you have a measure of faith.
