HAVE YOU DECIDED

by Joanne Lowe

“He that is not with me is against me: and that gathereth not with me scattereth.”

Luke 11: 23

King James Version

Many of us have heard this song “I have decided to follow Jesus.  I have decided to follow Jesus.  I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back.  Though no one join me, still I will follow.  Though no one join me, still I will follow.  Though no one join me, still I will follow, no turning back, no turning back”.  This is a beautiful love song to Jesus and should come from our hearts.

This is one of my favorite songs and I have been singing it all morning.  The thought came to me “Are we really following Him without turning back or do we retreat in defeat when satan and the world attack us with poisonous barbs of criticism and sarcasm and no one joins us”?  Are we willing to keep preaching, singing, writing and encouraging even when people criticize and condemn us?  Are we depending on others for our happiness?  If so, we are in serious trouble.  Only Jesus can give us real happiness, real joy, and a lasting peace.

I read in a book that we make our own happiness.  That is not a true statement.  Every good and perfect gift that we have comes from our loving Father. (James 1: 17)  We can choose however to place ourselves in situations that will bring happiness or bring sorrow.  God does not pull our strings and make us do anything as if we are His puppets.  He gives us the choice to follow Him or follow satan and the world.  If we deliberately go places that we know bring shame to Him, or if we watch movies that we would not watch with Him sitting next to us, then we have made the choice to follow satan instead of Him.  Have you decided to follow Jesus even if you have to do it alone?

Natural or Supernatural Disasters

By Rev. Will. Harrison Jr.

With the increased amount of occurrences of Natural Disasters in our world and so many people asking what is going on, or, "what's this world coming to", the answer could be stated as "The End". But I for one do not know when that will be. Even scientists of our day believe strongly that it can't be much longer. But as a Minister of the Christian Faith and almost needless to say a Student of the Bible and of Prophecy, let me share a little bit of perspective on this current hot issue.

The Bible is a library of spiritual writings that have covered a span of a few thousand years with numerous authors and all kinds of styles and types of insight and information. It's simply Not just a "book". And it also is a collection of predictions and prophecies written over the span of so many generations of "Men of God" who were very pious, devout, religious, individuals with proven ministries during their day.

Whether you realize it or not almost all of the predictions and prophecies contained within it's pages have already been fulfilled and have come to pass. This gives this "Library" of writings an incredibly high degree of reliability, and viability, and reputation. Something we should pay attention to and maybe even look into it's pages. Well I know of many people who say they will not give much credence to "Men of God" or any human beings because the level of reliability is just not convincing enough. We're all acutely aware of our inclination as members of humankind to make mistakes.

Well what about the historical figure Jesus of Nazareth who claimed to be the prophesied Christ and Son of God Almighty. There is more than enough credible evidence in the "Bible" to prove that he not only is who was previously prophesied to be and who he said he was but that he conquered death, rose and is alive and readying for his second coming. I mention him because he was not just an ordinary run of the mill, man on the earth. Even Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, etc. will give him that. Does the Bible record any prophecies from this Jesus the Christ the Savior about natural disasters and the end of the age, that is, as we know it today. He most certainly does. In the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John he talks about these things. One of the things he said was that in the days leading up to his second coming that there would be a dramatic spike in the frequency and intensity and size and scope of natural disasters of all kinds, plagues, wars, and, as he put it, "very perilous times will come upon the earth, even such as has never been seen before".

I'm not going to go into here and now what all of these predictions and claims by the Son of God were but what I planned on saying was that he said a lot about these things and they are happening just as he said and the scary things about these words of his are that "things are going to get way worse before He returns. If you ask "why" are these things happening and are going to continue and increase, I will only say at this time that it is not just for one single reason or purpose but they do certainly herald a message of bad news, especially for those who aren't in the habit of trusting in Him and being ever close to him in their daily lives, as these days approach.

I'm don't intend to scare any of you, but I feel I must share that what we have seen even the past ten years, even the past five, are going to get a lot worse worldwide and completely overwhelm human-kinds ability to deal with and cope.

But the good news is that Jesus and our Heavenly Father, our Creator, knows just how far it can go before we are all wiped off the face of the earth. Even if we see nuclear exchanges between certain countries or nations of the earth it will not result in the total annillhation of mankind. But it will look like it is going to get real close. Maybe it won't be in my lifetime [ I'm a baby boomer ] but at the current rate of increase it actually could be. God knows.

My obvious question to you is "are you ready" not only for what is going to be happening, even this year and this decade but are you ready for the return of Jesus in His Second Coming to set up His Earthly Kingdom and Reign. Will you be found on his side and in his favor? Will you be found as an enemy and a blasphemer of him and his Father and the Holy Spirit of God? Will you be ashamed at his appearing? If you know you're not ready or if you are not sure, I urge you, Please get ready. And if God forbid you were to die today or die in some natural disaster or war or plague, etc. then whatever state you were in at that time will be fixed and unchangeable. Please don't delay any further. There is only one disaster worse than any this earth will ever see and that is for you or someone you love and know to not be ready.

Necessity Of War

By Dennis Van Scoy

The pursuit of peace on earth is certainly the most noble of all ideals, the grand treasure and deepest yearning of each gentle spirit, and it is indeed the Christian duty to seek peace whenever possible (Romans 12:18). That said, we must however, keep in mind that world peace and the elimination of war, through human efforts is both logically and biblically impossible, for there will always be human beings who will resist peace efforts, desiring instead to enslave and dominate others (Matthew 24:6). For that very reason, military action for either self defensive or liberating purposes will always be required if freedom is to be maintained.

Throughout the Bible's Old Testament, God (who never changes Hebrews 13:8), repeatedly dispatched His chosen people (Israel), into wars and battles against idolatrous nations. Jehovah is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14 and Deuteronomy 4:24), not wanting the Jews (or Christians) to convert to any idolatry, He led Israel into battle time and time again to conquer the peoples and lands of the pagans (Numbers 31:1-7), indeed a "time for war" as spoken of in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. WARRING AGAINST THE DANGER OF IDOLATRY, ENSLAVEMENT OR DEATH!

In these times, although God indeed has averted his eyes off the nation of Israel due to their rejection of Jesus as Messiah, His heart is still with the Jews and His hand of protection remains on them (Ezekiel 36). Today, God has set the United States of America in the position to ally, defend and support Israel (His chosen people) until Christ physically returns in glory for all Israel to acknowledge as Messiah.

God's Church (born again Christians worldwide), have been adopted into the family of God through the blood of Jesus Christ and are now "step-kin" to the Jews,.. God's chosen people. God (who never changes), therefore wants Christians to seek the ways of peace WHEN POSSIBLE (Romans 12:18), without surrendering to either idolatry (Isalm), enslavement or death.

Peace has always required agreement, and (in some cases) even concession. The writings of Islam call for the complete destruction of God's chosen people (Israel), a very adamant insistence of radical Islam. The Koran (Muslim holy book), calls for the death or enslavement of all "infidels" (those who do not embrace Islam) and since Muslims consider their "holy writings" to be sacredthe very law of Allah, they pursue that violent mindset. WHERE IS THE AREA FOR COMPROMISE OR NEGOTIATION? Shall we then lay down our defenses and stand around a campfire holding hands and singing "Kum-By Yah"? Should we expect a miraculous conversion of all Islam to Christianity?.certainly not according to Jesus (Matthew 24:6 and Revelation 6:4). Wars will be part of this earthly existence until the Prince of Peace returns, it is human arrogance to think otherwise.

Radical Islamists hate America because it is allied with Israel, they don't want peace..THEY WANT TO KILL US AND "WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE MAP OF THE WORLD"! Our enemy is not so much people,.... not just Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbola, the Alaxa Martyrs Brigade, the Taliban, or even Osama Bin Laden himself, but rather an insane and evil mindset, with which there can be no compromise....RADICAL ISLAM! It is not identifiable by one uniform or contained within any one nation, it is WORLDWIDE..a new kind of enemy beyond our past experience. Radical Isam thinks nothing of strapping AK-47's on babies fresh out of the womb,or putting bombs on would be martyrs, then sending them out to murder a bus load of innocent school children in the name of Allah. HOW DO YOU COMPROMISE WITH THAT?!!!!

Jesus told us in Matthew 10:34-40, that His words and teachings would always be the cause of much conflict (the sword),...NOT PEACE;and that indeed brings us to where we are at today. It's Christianity against idolatry,....do we want to worship Jesus in freedom, or convert to the idolatry of Islam? We will always have to fight this murderous enemy somewhere. They've already proven on 911 they can get us anytime or anywhere, and so as much as I hate the fact that we have brave men and women dying in Iraq and Afghanistan everyday, it's better that our non-combatant populace be protected by our soldiers chasing the enemy off into their "spider holes", than a blood-bath in America's streets.

War, as terrible and hideous as it indeed is, is unfortunately part of this sin-cursed world system. God tells us it will be around until Christ returns. So, we live in peace with all who want peace, but to those who would lead us into idolatry, enslave or kill us,to those who refuse to respect our freedom or hold any value for innocent human life.there will be war.

What's this war about? It's about defending our freedom of religion from a "mindset" determined to force us into idolatry. It's about protecting America's future, our ally Israel and the world from Jihadists bent on world domination.
It's about protecting America from more incidents like 911. It is NOT about oil, the acquisition of lands or political control, that's a lie right from Satan himself,....IT'S ABOUT RELIGIOUS BELIEFS! That's what Jihad means "HOLY WAR", that's what these murderous radicals crave and long for....HOLY WAR against America and Israel. This war is about defending our liberty from a virtually invisible army of vicious murderers determined to either kill us or enslave us. I believe God is using America now at this time to defend religious liberty and provide protection for His chosen people...Israel. Remember, Islam is determined to completely destroy Israel. Do we want to give up and stand by while another Holocaust is perpetrated?

This is not only a just war, but a necessary one. Unfortunately, our leaders have made many mistakes so far in the prosecution of this war, and our President was not served well by our intelligence in this matter, however; the protection of our country and preservation of our way of life are vital. Indeed the cause is without question and America must remain resolute.

For those who don't believe we should be fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan, I ask: Where would you choose for us to defend our lives and liberty,in the enemy's back yard where they congregate and assemble, or "on our backs" in the streets of America?

Divided Front A Liberal Concept?

By Dawn Dale

There's a lot of talk , these days, about the divided front in America's political realm. There's a lot of danger, these days, in presenting that divided front.

Fact is, years ago, when we were employed in the war fronts, that people could dissent openly and publicly, and, though it was shocking, it was allowed. People didn't see any greater ramifications than the promotion of themselves and their ideals. That was thought to be a good thing. Fact is, good things may have come about from dissension in the past.

Yes, we learned a great deal about how to treat veterans. The anti-war protesters of the Vietnam era were dissenters that taught us a lot. We learned not to entice our own feelings upon the public attitude, thereby creating a hostile environment for returning veterans. Nowadays, service members don't have to return in order to feel the hostile environment; it's so potent that it reaches over the seas and across the airwaves to not only service members and our allies, but to the lands that we're attempting to liberate and the enemies who are trying to capitulate these lands.

Years ago, many knew and understood the ramifications of dissenting "liberals". The name may not have meant much at that time, because liberal was thought of as someone who was open-minded, respectful of others viewpoints. However, the term liberal may be a term that has been misused for decades. In the 1960's and thereabout, many knew that the term liberal was being flaunted about by reactionaries who felt that their cause was to present other viewpoints, regardless of their own convictions. The error, here, is that I believe that people of a true liberal mind have the conviction to present viewpoints that will enhance the well-being of those around them. Liberal has strayed from its own ideals.

By today's definition, I would be known as a Republican conservative. However, I consider the definition of my theology to be liberal. I'm very open-minded to viewpoints that promote the well-being of my country. I'm more respectful to those who disagree with me, as a Republican conservative, than I see my Democratic friends are to me and to Republican conservatives, in general. John Kerry highlighted this in his international fumbling, when he stated that "the U.S. has become an international pariah". Again, the definition of liberal is one who is respectful of others viewpoints. Again, my theology as a Republican conservative causes me to line up with liberal ideals more than those who tout this label.

I wonder where "Liberals" would be if the voting public actually voted for true liberal ideals rather than checking the Democrat box on their ballot.

Liberal, like the term "gay", has been hijacked. It does not stand for open-minded, respectful ideals. Perhaps because there is such a feeling of entanglement by Democrats, both in the public and the non famous sector, the term (or label) "Liberal" provides an escape. Democrats seem to feel that they are the oppressed (or at least they represent them) and calling themselves liberal offers a feeling of escape from the reality that they are simply rebellious dissenters of those whose ideals are far above their own. Because they know they are not going to be allowed to lead in causes that outrank their own, they set up their own accord and belittle those who champion causes that actually promote and enhance the well-being of our country.

Yes, I too, would seek escape if I found myself caught up in such unworthy causes as Democrats promulgate.
