Hezbollah, Israel, Bible Prophecy...All Falling Into Place?

Right now you have more 'jam-packed' action going on in the Middle East than what I am capable of blogging. As I watch the news, it looks like something produced out of Hollywood. Unfortunately, these events are not fictional and occurring at this very moment. However, there is a 'blessed hope' out of these 'trials and tribulations' (No, I am not saying we are in the Great Tribulation right now).

I have on my website, 'Discourse of Life Matters: The Website of AJSKtrgl', links to audio media to tell you how all these events in the Middle East line up with Bible prophecy. These links are from the RSS feeds from major Bible prophecy ministries. You really need to check this out because one way or another, what is happening in the Middle East right now will somehow eventually affect you.

"A Certain Man Had Two Sons - The Power of Two, Part 2" - Preached by John Hagee, Cornerstone Church - Sermon Notes By AJSktrgl

Luke 15

Overview and whats coming up in this series, "The Power of Two":

      - If you are looking for a way to have God to interact in your life, you must know how to use the power of two believers in Christ in agreement.

      - What happens when two walks in a covenant and one breaks it?

  • Luke 15 starts with Jesus engaging with the publicans (tax collectors):

Luke 15:1-7 (New King James Version)

1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them." 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.[www.biblegateway.com]

  • Tax collectors were hated (just think of hanging out with the IRS multiplied by a thousand) because they worked for Rome and kept a percentage of the tax, collected from the Jewish inhabitants. These tax collectors were loyal to no one, but themselves. They determined the percentage to collect from the people.

  • The sinners mentioned were people such as prostitutes and adulterers

  • The point is that Jesus loves every person and came to redeem all individuals. Jesus rejects no one and gives everyone the opportunity to be redeemed.

  • We, the church, are not here to see who we can turn away (with legalistic attitudes), but who we can lift up and bring in. We are to comfort these individuals and share the gospel with all

  • If we have perfect people, then there is no reason for the church to be around

  • Luke 15:11-16 (New King James Version)

11 Then He said: "A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. [www.biblegateway.com]

  • The word prodigal means recklessly extravagant.

  • The prodigal son was a rebel without a cause. His attitude reflected "Give me what is mine!".

  • When the son left, he said give me. When he came back he said, make me:

    Luke 15:12 and Luke 15:19:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood.

19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'[www.biblegateway.com]

  • The father gave him his inheritance...Everything the son was to receive, all at the same time. The son got exactly what he wanted, then he lost everything he had, including his freedom.

  • Freedom to do what you want requires responsibility. Winston Churchill stated that responsibility is the price of greatness.

  • The foolish comments of secular humanists state that I am the captain of my own ship and I control my own destiny; man can live without God.

    • You are deceived if you believe this.

    • You yourself have absolutely no power on earth

Luke 15:17-18 (New King James Version)

17 "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, [www.biblegateway.com]

  • The prodigal came back and said I have sinned. When he lost all of this money, he thought that was just bad luck. However, when he came back to reality , he said 'I have sinned'.

  • Sin is fun until you have finally fried your brains with drug or if you getting ready to have an abortion as a result of the fruit of your lusts.

  • Sin is a cancer and will take you further than you want and make you pay more than you can afford. Sin always comes with a high price.

  • Luke 15:20-21 (New King James Version)

20 "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'[www.biblegateway.com]

  • Repentance is where you say 'I have sinned'.

  • When the father saw his prodigal son coming back, he ran towards his son

  • Luke 15:22-24 (New King James Version)

22 "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring[a] out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry.

  • Jesus has given us authority the same way the father gave authority to the prodigal son when he came back. Point of the story is to show there is restoration out shame. The father gave him shoes and a signet ring because only slaves go without shoes. He ran to meet the boy. As he approached the emaciated boy the son was in a broken state. The father had the servants get a robe so that he can cover the son from the sins he has committed. He then cleaned up his son.

  • God has a dazzling white robe for you too. You need to come home to the father and repent. If you have the courage to say I have sinned, God will redeem you and you are made holy by the blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Luke 15:25-32 (New King James Version)

25 "Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.'
28 "But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his father, 'Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'
31 "And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.'"

  • The other son was the greatest sinner of all. The son was loveless and very judgmental. This very attitude of many church goers is why many people leave churches and, in this situation, why the prodigal son left.

  • The word of God says to love one another as God has loved you. Love is of God and those who do not have love do not have God.

  • We have preached the sin of adultery and lust but ignored the sin of gossip and legalism.

  • What is legalism?
Legalism is keeping man made religious rules to obtain righteousness with God. God hates legalism because if you can keep and follow the rules of legalism, then Jesus died in vain.

  • The Church of Corinth had problems with legalism.

  • Legalism and following church traditions does not save you; the only thing that saves you is the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Legalism controls other people by pointing to the sins of the past. If you hear this in Church, then leave! If they are talking about other people, they will talk about you!

  • Bible says forgive others as we forgive ourselves.

  • Forgiveness opens doors closed by resentment.

  • You must forgive others or God will turn you over to the tormenters. Forgiveness is not optional!

  • The prodigal made a wise decision to seek forgiveness, the older brother was resentful.

  • The father said my son who was dead, is now alive!

  • If you do not forgive, God will not and can not forgive you.

Windows Vista - What To Look Foward To by Richard Callaby

Perhaps you have heard about the next new version of Microsoft Windows, called Vista? The Vista operating system has many promises to one great, stable and dynamic operating system. Not only will this operating system have the .Net framework built into the core of the operating system it will also feature some other key communications, user interface and security breakthroughs.

For instance Vista will utilize the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) which will greatly increase the aesthetic value of each application. Perhaps you may be familiar with a website developed with Flash animation software. Now picture the same type of functionality and aesthetics however instead of being restricted to a website format having the freedom to develop the interface so it is a true Windows application. Further, this WPF will allow for much easier and faster deployments of these applications through the use of "one click deployment" technology. If you are familiar with the updater application block and the BITS service then you are already familiar with innovation. However, instead of being some cumbersome application block you will be able to easily deploy these applications with just a few clicks from your development environment.

Secondly the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) will provide a secure and reliable messaging platform which will allow for a new era in the creativity of application developers. This WCF will bring in a new time when true service oriented applications will become commonplace. This will make it much easier to connect businesses to each other and their customers.

The in built security mechanisms will make for a much more secure platform as well. Since this operating system is built around the .Net framework Code Access Security will be much easier to enforce and maintain. Code access security is when the author of the program can specify exactly what the program is allowed to do based upon the role of the user who is accessing the software. This will allow for a much finer grained security mechanism which will make software much more trustworthy by the end user.

Another feature of Vista is called SuperFetch. SuperFetch seems to be a caching mechanism for frequently used files so that the end user experiences fast response times and is not hindered by the background tasks that the operating system is performing. This will greatly speed up and perhaps cause less system crashes thereby making the OS much more stable.

One other great feature of Vista is its use of the sidebar and gadgets. Gadgets are small programs that either you or someone else has created that performs some frequently used task such as viewing the latest weather or traffic information from your desktop. Now this might seem to be a small feature but I am sure the general public will eat this feature up and it is one place where some new innovative software inventions might take place. It might even make managing your life that

    much easier.

Perhaps the best feature of Vista is its new ability to easily search through and organize your files for later retrieval. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to search my own hard drive for a file that I knew I created but could not remember where I stored it.

Let's face it Windows XP and Windows 2000 are by now old fashioned. The public needs a new operating system simply because the other's are beginning to show their age. It is time for an upgrade.

    CNN Spreading Hezbollah propaganda?

CNN's Robertson Now Admits: Hezbollah 'Had Control' of His Anti-Israel Piece | NewsBusters.org

I realize that CNN tends to maintain a liberal bias, but to knowingly report news 'spinned' by a terrorist group is just simply ridiculous!

Here is my brief take on Nic Robertson, the reporter who provided the unreliable anti-Israel news: Lets say, theoretically (God forbid!), Saddam Hussein comes back to power in Iraq; Nic Robertson would stand a good chance of being hired as Saddam's new Iraqi Information Minister. The only problem with that scenario is that the former Iraqi Information Minister, Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf (otherwise known as 'Baghdad Bob' or 'Comical Ali'), was much more convincing while spreading propaganda than Nic Robertson.:-) All you need to do is look at the picture of 'Comical Ali' reporting on the 'impending doom of the American soldiers' during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. I have never seen such conviction in any other reporter....LOL

A side note for those of you unable to detect humor/sarcasm in written form: the vast majority of the second paragraph falls into this category.

    An Apocalyptic Discovery?

    CNN.com - Medieval book of psalms unearthed - Jul 25, 2006

What a story! Just this week, CNN reported on a 20-page manuscript, dating back to 800-1000 AD, unearthed in Ireland. Normally, a story like this is not particularly exciting; however, this manuscript was open on Psalm 83 of the Bible when it was found. Psalm 83 describes an end-time scenario involving Israel and her enemies:

The ancient psalm deals with a plea to God not to let the enemies of Israel eradicate God's chosen nation

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. (Psalm 83:1-4)[WorldNetDaily: 'Psalm in a bog' linked to Israel's current war]

The most interesting thing about this discovery is the timing. Is it pure coincidence that this form of discovery takes place during the Israeli-Lebanon conflict? It could be, but I believe this discovery is a reaffirmation from God of what will eventually take place at a latter time. Some have speculated that this discovery is directly related to the current Israeli conflict. I happen to disagree with this position and share the views of Jan Markell, Olive Tree Ministries regarding this discovery:

I do NOT believe the current conflict is leading to Psalm 83 as much of the Arab world is opposed to Hezbollah's actions, realizing it is orchestrated by Iran and Syria. Iran is not Arab, though it is Muslim. The Arab world is beginning to be alarmed at the rapid climb of power-hungry Iran and her insane leader Achmadinejad. That is yet a future war unrelated to the current conflict. [July 26, 2006 edition of Understanding the Times Weekly eUpdate by Jan Markell].

On a side note, here is a link to a flash presentation, modified in November 2005, about Psalm 83: http://www.acwitness.org/psalm83english.html . The interesting thing about this presentation is that it specifically maps out the countries described in Psalm 83 as Israel's enemies.

"The Power of Two" Preached by John Hagee, Cornerstone Church - Sermon Notes By AJSktrgl

This is part 1 of a four series teaching called "the Power of Two".

    • Pastor Hagee has been asked when will he address the Issue in the Middle East. Here is his answer:

      • John Hagee will address the issue of what is going on in the Middle East when either Israel or the United States bombs Iran. In addition, the Third World War has started but the majority has not really recognized this fact and Hagee said he will probably write a book and discuss the Middle East issue after Iran is bombed.

Matthew 18:18-19 (New King James Version)
18 "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 "Again I say[a] to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
    [biblegateway.com]

    • "...if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." - For every two believers coming together under scriptural authority, they have power.

    • Jesus accomplished the following:

      • Jesus was able to feed the multitudes from a single "sack lunch">

      • Jesus took away my sin at the cross and provided for me forgiveness.

      • Jesus' death on the cross took away my sickness and provided me the ability to live in divine health

      • We were made royalty by the precious blood of Jesus Christ

    • When Jesus accomplished the above and his ministry on earth, Jesus told his disciples that they would do greater things

    • John 14:11-13 (New King James Version)
11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [biblegateway.com]

    • Our generation is so far from New Testament Christianity that if a mainline denomination pastor called for healing service, the elders of the church would have him committed.

    • If you live the New Testament standard of holiness you would have to backslide to be in fellowship with the mainline denominational church.

    • The New Testament Church (early church) did not preach positive self esteem type messages or sugar coated anything. They meet demon powers head on.

    • The Chruch stagnated after Constantine signed a declaration of tolerance.

    • The Early Church would have called the churches of our generation the "syangogue of satans".

    • The early church was actively accomplishing the following:

      • Winning the lost

      • Casting out demons

      • Praising God

      • Getting burned to the stake and fed to lions for their beliefs

    • The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of power - Power belongs to the Lord.

    • God gives the believer power over demons. All you need to do is mention the name of Jesus Christ and the demons tremble in terror.

    • There is power in the name of Jesus. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, the position of power

    • The first time Jesus came to earth, He rode humbly on the back of a donkey. Next time Jesus comes, He will ride triumphantly on the back of a white horse, along with his armies in heaven.

    • The first time Jesus came to earth, He was dragged as a lamb to slaughter and now He sits at the right hand of God.

    • When the new kingdom comes, Jesus will not:

      • Consult with the United nations. The nations of the world will not be able to stop Him

      • Ask the ACLU if the 10 Commandments can be posted on a school or court wall

      • Ask the feminists if abortion is wrong. Abortion will cease immediately

      • Ask the World Council of Churches to approve of Him

    • Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. He had the first word; he will have the last word.

    • Many people are struggling emotionally, physically and financially. The key is knowing the power of two, as reemphasized in the following verses:

    • Matthew 18:18-19 (New King James Version)
18 "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 "Again I say[a] to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
      [biblegateway.com]

    • The number two or the concept of pairs is a common theme throughout scriptures starting with Adam and Eve as a pair, the kinds of animals going into Noah's ark in pairs as male/female, and continues on in the new testament with Jesus telling the disciples to go out in pairs.

    • Here are other examples representing the number "two".

      • The Bible states that no man can serve two masters. Man will either serve God or he will serve satan

      • There are two positions in stated in scriptures; you are either saved or lost

      • There are two ways into eternity; the narrow way leads to heaven and the broad way leads into the darkness of hell.

      • The sword of the word of God is a two edged sword.

Hebrews 4:12 (New King James Version)
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
      [biblegateway.com]

    • Fears says you are defeated. The other side of fear is faith where there is boldness

    • Fear comes in a trying hour and says you are alone. Faith charges back to the battle and listens as God says 'I will not forsake you' and that I can do all things through Christ; I am not alone and the angels of God are in front of me.

    • Fear comes to you and says you are financially ruined. Faith provides you with vineyards and fields that you did not plant or sow.

    • The tempter will tell you that your sickness is fatal while faith says I will live and not die and by His stripes, we are healed. God is still the Great Physician.

    • Jesus sent out his disciples in pairs to heal the sick, cast out demons and preach the gospel.

    • Our society does not practice like the New Testament Church. In fact todays American seminaries can't spell the word "demon", let alone cast one out.

    • God says when two of you are there, God will show up.

    • In the scripture there are two types of God's will.

      • The first one is the sovereign will of God. The sovereign will of God cannot change. It is God's sovereign will that the Jewish people have the Land of Israel and Jerusalem; it doesn't matter what everyone else wants.

      • The other will of God is the wish of God. This includes salvation of men where it is God's desire that all be saved. This will of God does not interfere with the will of man, as man has freewill.

    • Two are better than one. God says it is not good for man to be alone.

    • Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (New King James Version)
9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
      11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.[biblegateway.com]

    • The threefold cord can also be the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    • Deuteronomy 32:30 (New King James Version)
30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the LORD had surrendered them?
      [biblegateway.com]

    • If one can case a thousand, based on mathematics, two can chase 2,000. However when two comes under the authority of God, two puts 10000 to flight. Dominion over your problem starts with two people in agreement under the authority of the scriptures.

    • Paul and Silas, the power of two singing together shook the jail house and the prisoners were released. Two of God's men in agreement will be able to control the nations of the earth.

    • Satan's first attack was against a husband and wife, Adam and Eve. The minute they were separated, they were defeated.

    • Be not unequally yoked. Because during times of battle, that second person will not be there to fight the battle with you.

    • Consider the supernatural power of "two" which includes a promise for from honoring both parents:

    • Ephesians 6:2-3 (New King James Version)
2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
      [biblegateway.com]

    • We wrestle against principalities and powers

    • Your enemies are supernatural, organized by rank and geographical areas and designed to rob, kill, and destroy. Your enemy is the father of lies, which divides mothers against daughters and fathers against sons. Satan is a roaring lion seeking who to devour.

    • The answer for America is for father and mother to pray together.

    • Satan comes to devour and divide. Jesus sent his disciples 2 by 2. When Satan comes into your house and you try to fight him with your intellect and cybernetics he will devour you. If you fight him with the power of God, you will defeat him. He will be bound by the authority of Jesus Christ and the power of His word. You have power use it. You have authority and dominion, use it. You have the power to live in absolute victory. (Power from the Word of God).

    • If you are being attacked in your finances, then you need to speak out to Satan and say that you are under the authority of god and that according to the scriptures, God will supply your every need and that Satan has already been defeated at the cross

    • In regards to your health, satan is bound by the word of God. God's word states 'by His stripes, I am healed.' Satan is therefore defeated

    • If you are being attacked by emotions, fear, depression, resentment, then Satan has control over your emotions and your mind. You need to say 'Satan, I am speaking to you in the name of Jesus and by His blood and by the power of God's word, you are defeated!'

    • How much power can two people have, in agreement? Here is a real life example:

      • On one occasion, a godly father came to Pastor Hagee and said that his 21 year old son has converted to Christianity. Pastor Hagee asked 'what was the problem, then?'. The father stated that his son dropped out of the drug trafficking after the conversion and that the drug cartels were going to search for him and kill him for dropping out. Pastor Hagee asked if the man's wife was in agreement with the husband in prayer. The man said yes and Pastor Hagee instructed the man to invite the thugs over to the man's house for dinner (not in some cafe or restaurant), where he would be under the banner and protection of Jesus Christ, and tell them that we (the man, wife, and the son) are under the divine protection of Jesus Christ and that if you lift your hand to hurt my son, you will face immediate judgment from God. The father faithfully bared this message to the thugs and they laughed at the father. All five of the thugs were killed in a variety of ways within six months.

    • Whomever the Son sets free, is free indeed.

    • Matthew 16:18-20 (New King James Version)
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed[a] in heaven.”
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

Puzzle Pieces to the Trans Texas Chaos

WorldNetDaily: Watching government eliminate our borders

The Trans Texas Corridor, (otherwise known as the 'Trans Texas Catastrophe' by Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn or the 'Trans Texas Chaos' by me) is a hot topic here is South Texas. For those of you not living in Texas, you might believe the development of this super-highway wont affect you. Well, guess what...You're wrong!

First, allow me to provide you a link to a map of Texas highlighting the exact location of the proposed Trans Texas Corridor:
    interactive2

If you Non-Texans are wondering how this affects you, take a look at the proposed North American superhighway on the following US Map.:
Welcome to NASCO - International Mid-Continent Trade Corridor.

Yes people, this is real! In fact I was just informed that a few individuals at my place of employment are directly affected by this super-corridor plan. These individuals, residents of Seguin, Texas, have been told in their town hall meetings that their properties are in the direct path of this project and that they will have to consider the real possibility of being forced to move.

As I have stated in my previous blog, 'A North American Conspiracy', Jerome Corsi from WorldnetDaily has stated on a radio talk show that the Trans Texas Corridor affects about 1 million people in Texas alone. This corridor will actually go beyond Texas from Mexico all of the way into Canada. Millions of more Americans in other states will have to face the possibility of having their properties seized by the US Government.

The following links addresses the opposition to the proposed Texas toll roads and the Trans Texas Corridor:

    Another Laptop Computer Tip

If you are looking to purchase a laptop, hopefully you've read the previous post written by Jon San Filippo called "5 tips for buying the right laptop computer". Those tips were great, however, I would like to add my 5 cents worth. Although much of the information is accurate, some things have changed concerning minimum system requirements. He stated that 256 Mb of RAM should be plenty for mundane tasks such as email, spreadsheets, wordporcessing and etc. That is true to a point. If you know for a fact that that is all you are going to use the laptop for, why spend the money? Many people state their intention of using the laptop for basic office applications, but many of these same people come to me and ask why their system locks up or why their applications aren't performing as quickly as they expected. These individuals, in many cases, have ultimately chosen to use the laptop for other applications such as gaming, photo editing, editing multiple documents at the same time, etc. In my opinion, if you are a typical computer user, you should opt for a minimum of 512Mb of RAM. This should allow you to perform all of your basic tasks and will even allow you to play quite a few computer games. Before you buy the games, or any other applications for that matter, look for the minimum system requirements needed to run the program and ensure that that you meet these requirements. Ideally, you should ensure that your system exceeds the minimum requirements, especially in the RAM (memory) and the graphics card.

If you know for a fact, without a shadow of a doubt, that you will use the computer for only basic mundane tasks, save yourself some money and go buy a cheap desktop at an online auction like E-bay or at a garage sale. Sometimes stores like Bestbuy or Wal-mart have sales on desktop systems for less than $300. But if you know that you will need something portable to haul around, then you will need to consider getting a laptop.

If you are convinced that a laptop is what you need, then you need to check out HP Home & Home Office Store. In fact, HP notified me today by E-mail in regards to a sale going on in their HP online store. This is a huge discount and is only good for the next 2 weeks. Here is the information:

5 tips for buying the right laptop computer
Its easy to be intimidated by all the laptop models on the market today. There are literally dozens and dozens in every price range. The key to finding the right one for you is to step back and consider exactly how you plan to use your laptop. When you define what you need before you go shopping, buying the right machine becomes much easier.

Here are 5 basic factors to consider:
    1. Size

In the world of mobile computing, size definitely matters. The size of a laptop affects two key areas: portability and display size.
If youre always on the go and will be using your computer only in short bursts, a so-called ultralight will save you some shoulder strain.
On the other hand, if youre going to spend hours in front of your laptop, a larger display may be in order.
Today, some laptop displays exceed 17 inches, rivaling the display size of many desktop systems. The down side is that these monsters can easily weigh three times as much as an ultralight.
    2. Hard Drive

Speaking of size, what about the size of the hard drive? One way to approach this issue is to ask yourself the following question:
Will this be my primary computer, or will it supplement my desktop system?
If the former, you should look for a bigger hard drive - 60 GB or more.
If the latter, you may be able to make it with a 20-30 GB hard drive.
    But even this isnt absolute.
If, for example, you plan to copy a huge MP3 library from your desktop system to your laptop to make your music library portable, youd be well advised to err on the side of too big.
    3. Memory

In determining the right amount of system memory, or RAM, take a look at the ways in which you intend to use your laptop:
If your needs are somewhat mundane - email, spreadsheets, word processing, etc. - 256 MB of RAM should be plenty. This is a common configuration for many laptops, so it means you probably wont need to spend extra for more RAM.
On the flip side, if youre an aspiring mobile digital photographer or videographer, you should stuff your laptop with as much RAM as it can hold.
In fact, exactly how much RAM your laptop can hold may in part drive your purchase decision. Applications for editing and manipulating multimedia content are notorious resource hogs.
    4. Network Connections

Thanks in no small part to the Internet, computing in the 21st century relies heavily on being connected:
Connected to the Internet, connected to a corporate network, connected to a wireless network, connected to a home network, connected to an online service.
Your life will be easier if you buy a laptop that includes built-in means to connect to them all.
    5. Price

If youre considering a laptop, youre probably wondering how much money youll need to spend.
A few years ago, youd be hard-pressed to find one for under $2,000. Today, there are plenty of laptops to be had for under $1,000.
Whats more, most of the major manufacturers offer a variety of financing options.
Laptop prices have come down, to be sure. However, a laptop still represents a fairly major purchase for most people.
If you take the time to search for a laptop that meets your specific needs, you should get many years of use and enjoyment from this important investment. The author, computer journalist John San Filippo, has written the definitive guide for buying a laptop computer at:

    Praying for World War III?

Authored by: Todd, from Rapture Ready

    July 17

    Praying for World War III?

Once again the nation of Israel has become the center of world attention. The unrest started two weeks ago in the Gaza Strip area when Palestinian forces tunneled into Israel, killing two soldiers and abducting Corporal Gilad Shalit in a raid. A few days later, the situation was made worse when Hezbollah forces opened up a northern front, killing eight soldiers and taking two more captive. Hezbollah has also been firing rockets into northern Israel.

The Israeli military has responded to the unprovoked attack with a series of bombings. It has bombed several transportation hubs and a command center used by the terrorists. There are some reports that Israel has sent strong warnings to Iran and Syria that could lead to a wider conflict.

Whenever there is a blow-up in the Middle East, I often get emails from people who think I’m sitting at my computer and salivating all over myself with glee over the prospect of war. Here is one good example:

“A friend and I from work were watching CNN today on our lunch break. We saw breaking news from the Mideast where Israel was bombing Beirut. He turned to me and said, 'You know, Christian fundamentals are salivating right now; they believe this is the beginning of the "rapture."' I laughed a little and thought to myself, 'Are there really people out there so incensed with their faith that they actually believe this is the end?' So I decided to research it on the net. Sure as God made little green apples, here you are!”

I don’t get excited every time there is conflict in the Middle East. The Lord Jesus commanded His followers to watch patiently for His return. Because God is totally in control of the timeline, there is no need for cheerleading. As far as World War III goes, man's wickedness will eventfully ensure its arrival. The whole Rapture Ready crew shares this view. Consider the following message that one of our admin posted on the message board:

“Some of our guests may have the impression that Christians are rooting for the apocalypse and are rejoicing at seeing blood spilled. The media sometimes portrays Christians that way, but it simply isn't true. While we long to see God's will done here on earth, just as it is in heaven, we know that this will not happen until some terrible things come to pass. But we don't rejoice in the suffering that occurs as it happens, nor do we find the death that both the military and civilians incur in the process cause for celebration.”

My nearly 20 years of experience with the site has taught me to have a long view. Every time a prophecy-related event is in the news, thousands of people flock to Rapture Ready. When activity wanes, the majority of these people lose all interest in the end times. Last month, the 06/06/06 date generated a mini media frenzy, setting a two-year record for traffic to the site. A week after the beast date, the traffic flow had returned to normal. My expectation is to see the same thing happen with this current traffic surge.

I’m not urging everyone just to ignore what is going on in the Holy Land. I see the turbulence as a clear warning of our proximity to the last days. If the situation continues to steadily worsen, events could quickly lead us to the tribulation hour. The fact that Israel keeps coming back to the brink is one indication that it has a prophetic destiny.

The critics of Bible prophecy can moan and groan all they want, but they cannot stop world events from going down the path predestined by God himself. Even Israel is powerless to stop the progression of prophecy. In the past decade, the Jewish state has taken several measure to avert conflict. It signed several peace pacts with its Arab neighbors, it gave up land as a goodwill gesture, and it's built a wall around much of its territory. In the end, the so-called peace process has only helped make matters more ripe for prophecy.

The same Bible that predicts that Israel will be a “burdensome stone for all people” (Zec. 12:3) also forewarns of a great calamity that will lead to the death of over two-thirds of the human population. It is very sad to read emails from people who are smart enough to understand that the unrest has a connection to prophecy, and yet they mock the implications it has for them.

There is coming a day when there will be no doubt that the end times have arrived. When the rapture takes place, the skeptics will have all the evidence they need to make the correct decision about eternity. Unfortunately, the new stakes will then require a willingness to suffer martyrdom for one's faith. Anyone who is currently on the fence would be very wise make the right choice now.

"When these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28).

Are You a Potential Crime Victim?

    http://www.articleworld.net/articles/2539/1/Are-You-a-Potential-Crime-Victim?

    By Joseph Garrio

    Published on 10/25/2005

Follow these suggestions and avoid becoming the next crime victim.

Are You A Potential Crime Victim?
I've been in law enforcement for 17 years and have a great deal of experience working in the street and dealing with the common problems and crimes of the average person. This article addresses the common crimes that are occuring to people when removed from their homes. This is to make you aware of them and how to reduce your chances of becoming a victim.

    Unattended Property

Many people in the city become a victim to this crime. This mainly happens when someone is in a public place and puts down their wallet, purses, etc., doesn't pay attention, and then someone picks it up when noone is watching. Popular places for this crime to occur are coffeshops, bars, supermarkets, gyms, churches, schools, your place of business, just about any public place. To help avoid this happening to you follow these guidelines. Never leave anything down by itself, even where you work! It's as simple as that. If you do have to put something down make sure that you or someone that you are with keeps a close eye on it. If a criminal is trying to take it odds are he won't if he/she sees someone paying attention. These criminals want to steal your property and walk away when noone is watching, they don't want to be seen or chased. Do not leave items of value in your car, especially your wallet when playing sports or when you are at the beach.

    Pickpocket

Otherwise known as a Grand Larceny in the Penal Law. This usually occurs when someone removes something from someone else's pocket, bag or purse. Famous places for this to occur are subways, buses, bus stops, bars, stores, crowded sidewalks. It can happen in just about any busy, noisy, crowded place.Follow these suggestions so they don't get you. For women always carry your pocketbook towards the front. When carried on the back or side you cannot see when someone is trying to reach in. For the men always carry your wallet in your front pocket instead of your back pocket or in a jacket pocket. For those of you who are tired or had too much to drink and are traveling on public transportation, don't fall asleep! Falling asleep makes it much easier and the criminals will even cut your pocket open to get out that wallet, it happens all the time on the subway. In addition to the above just be aware of what is going on around you, criminals will strike when someone is not paying attention.

    Snatches

More famously known to the public as a purse or chain snatch. There are many new snatches out there today. The criminal will take just about anything from you. These include cell phones, money, ipods, metro cards from the subway. Many times these criminals are on bicyles for a fast snatch and getaway.Right now cell phones seem to be the most popular. The best way to avoid this from happening to you is not to carry those cellphones, ipods, money and cards in your hand. When not using these items put them away in a safe place. When you have to keep them out, such as when talking on your cellphone, be aware of your surroundings. Place yourself in a position where it would be hard for someone to run or walk by you and hold onto them tightly when someone is near. As with all the other crimes listed here, pay attention to your surroundings.

    Robberies

A Robbery is when someone takes property of another by using force. That force can be physical or just the threat of force. I save this for last because all the crimes discussed above can easily become Robberies. If the purse snatch is done with force, it's a Robbery. Many times a criminal will use force to steal that money, cell phone, ipod, etc., instead of just snatching it. So if you follow all the guidelines above for unattended property, snatches, pickpockets you will automatically reduce your chances of getting robbed. When driving in your car make sure you keep your doors locked to prevent someone entering. Leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you so you can move forward and around if necessary when approached by someone. If you live in an apartment building never enter the building with someone you've never seen before. If you see a stranger in the lobby or hallway after entering turn around and leave. Use extreme caution and make sure noone is following you when you have just come from the following places: cash checking, banks or any place where you displayed some money.

Follow these safety guidelines and you will definitely reduce your chances of becoming a victim. If a criminal approaches you and tries to commit any of these crimes, it is important to remember not to resist. Your life is more important than your property. Property can always be replaced but not you. Stay safe!

    A North American Conspiracy

    WorldNetDaily: U.S.-Mexico merger opposition intensifies

Have you wondered about President Bush's reluctance to secure the borders? How about his commitment to the 'Guest Worker Program'? For a while it seemed plausible that the president's agenda was to secure additional votes from the Hispanic community for future Republican candidates. However, there appears to be a great deal of evidence to suggest a much more sinister motive.

For the past few months, reports of President Bush working with Canada and Mexico to accomplish a European Union style merger between the three countries have been appearing on conservative news sources such as the WorldNetDaily, author, Jerome Corsi, and pro-family activist, Phyllis Schlafly. For a while, I was thinking since the vast majority of the reports were coming from conservative sources and was largely ignored by the liberal media, that most people would have a hard time believing this story. I've even heard reports that much of Congress is unaware of the full extent of the plans of the Security and Propsperity Partnership of North America, the partnership of the three countries spearheading the merger.

Well, interesting enough, Lou Dobbs of CNN has voiced his opposition to this Tri-lateral agreement. In addition, US Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado has publicly demanded that the Bush Administration fully disclose the activities of the government office involved in the Tri-lateral agreement and emphasized that the action was taken without the required authority from Congress.

The following are some of the additional concerns that have been voiced by individual watch groups:

    • Plans are in place to build a North American super-highway running from Mexico into Canada along Interstate 35. The width of this super-highway will be approximately the size of four football fields. Jerome Corsi has stated on Adam McManus's talk show that in order to achieve this feat, millions of people living along the route of this super-highway (about 1 million people in Texas alone) will be displaced.

    • The proposed plan will effectively facilitate open borders and will also allow US companies to hire cheap labor from the poor countries. This will further eliminate jobs from the American people and be given to the foreigners willing to work for cheaper wages.

    • Of course, one of the biggest concerns is that this development of the North American Union will end the United States as we know it. As previously stated, the United States will lose its sovereignty and merge with Mexico and Canada to become a single sovereign nation, the North American Union. Effectively, the three countries will be equivalent to states and the different states in the US will be equivalent to counties. This merger will also eliminate the United States dollar and a single currency will be in place for the North American Union called the 'amero'.

Needless to say, you need to be mindful of who you are voting for in the upcoming elections. This may or may not affect the outcome in the development of the North American Union. But as the cliché goes, 'If you don't vote, then you have absolutely nothing to complain about'.

July 9, 2006 Sunday Service Notes by AJSktrgl

Sunday morning preaching by Mathew Hagee, son of John Hagee:

Galatians 6:14 (New King James Version)

14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom[a] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. [www.biblegateway.com]

Psalm 118:24 (New King James Version)

    24 This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it. [www.biblegateway.com]

    • As today is the day the Lord has made, I will be made glad in it. I am not worried about the price of gas or the Korean missile crisis.

    • However, sin always brings a curse. Adam, Eve, and the land was cursed after they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

    • With sin, there always must be a sacrifice to cover up the sin

    • The sacrifice of bulls, lambs, and other animals only covered the sin

    • The good news is that the sacrifice of Christ not only covered our sin, but because of his sacrifice the sin is carried away by His blood. As a result, we are new creatures and the place of Christ is where we are made one with God the Father.

Colossians 2:14-15 (New King James Version)
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. [www.biblegateway.com]

    • All Demonic forces has been defeated

    • God made the Demons and Satan a public spectacle at the cross of Calvary. How?...Before the sacrifice of Christ, all were slaves to sin (therefore slaves of Satan). Satan was mocked by the sacrifice of Christ because with Christ's blood sacrifice, this was the price that Christ paid to purchase us from sin (Satan). With the sacrifice at Calvary, for those who believe, we are no longer slaves to Satan, but are now free.

    • Satan's first tactic is doubt

      • The Davinci code tries to make you doubt the virgin birth.

      • Doubt says...I believe Christ performed all the miracles in the Bible, but He won't do anything for me.

    • All things are possible because the Divine book, the Bible is true.

    • The following are the major exchanges that took place with Christ:

      • Christ paid for all sins. crimson stained, but washed white as snow

      • At Calvary, Christ was wounded for me to be healed. With Christ, we have authority to exalt healing over sickness.

      • Isaiah 53:5 (New King James Version)
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
        He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. [www.biblegateway.com]

      • Christ became sin for exchange so we can have his righteousness. He took on my poverty so we can have in abundance of everything. He was rejected so we can be accepted

      • Christ took my old man and died with him so that the new man with the God nature can live. (Celebrate the cross because it is a place for divine exchange)

      • My freedom was bought and paid for. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. You were bought for a price by Christ at the cross.

    • We have so much to celebrate as Christians. God has plans to prosper us. Every joy we know is because of the cross

    Health Assessment Tools

    Health Assessment Tools

I came across this website from the Medical University of South Carolina. The Health Assessment Tools on the website is what really caught my attention.

I lead a busy lifestyle and I know many of you reading this is probably busy as well. In many cases, I really don't have the time to schedule doctor appointments and wouldn't want to for minor health concerns. I would imagine that many of you are on a limited budget and really couldn't afford to go to the doctor unless it was a life or death situation.

Hopefully, I can be of some help by providing you a link to a website with a variety of health tools to help gauge the status of your health. (Please keep in mind that I am not a doctor and the referenced website itself has a disclaimer stating that the information/tools are not a substitute for an actual physician.)

Here is an overview of some of the free online tests/assessment tools I came across to help determine if the following conditions may be afflicting you or your loved ones:

    • Skin cancer quiz

    • Breast cancer quiz

    • Childhood asthma quiz

    • Sleepiness test

    • Diabetes

    • A mental health screening

    • Cholesterol quiz

    • Low back pain quiz

If you don't have any health concerns,it doesn't hurt to check out the website anyways. The website does provide interesting health related information. Also, if you are trying to lose weight, the site provides a variety of tools and calculators to help you stay on the right track.

    Preterism! I Can't Believe It

    Authored by: Rapture Ready

One of my key reasons for believing in the pre-tribulation rapture is the fact
all other views are always trying to undermine pre-tribulationism. Up until now,
the most vocal group of opponents has been the post-trib and pre-wrath folks. I'm
amazed to find preterism now on the attack, gaining ground by mostly converting
    pre-tribbers.

    What is preterism? This theory argues that all Bible prophecy has been fulfilled;
it states that nothing remains on the prophetic calendar. According to preterism,
events like the rise of the Antichrist, the tribulation, the rapture, and the Day
of the Lord all took place around 70 AD, the year the Romans invaded Jerusalem and
    destroyed the second Temple.

I just cannot understand how anyone can follow a preterist line of thinking in
light of current world events. As in many cases, pride is one of the most common
reasons people begin following doctrinal error. They believe that they are part
of a special group that has discovered a hidden truth. Never mind the fact that
millions of people have joined them in supporting their folly.

Up until now, I've largely been ignoring preterism because it seemed equivalent
to the Flat Earth Society. Well, I can't stand by and watch error run free, so it
looks like I'm going to have to add preterism to the list of erroneous rapture views
that I need to actively refute.

The heart of this error is based on Jesus' statement that "this generation shall
not pass, till all things be fulfilled" (Mat 24:34). It seems easy enough to claim
Jesus was speaking about a first-century generation; however, logic ends there when
one contemplates the fulfillment of all Bible prophecy.

In order to make 70 AD the magic year, we would have to delete dozens of prophecies
that were never fulfilled. When was the Gospel preached to all the nations? When
was the Mark of the Beast implemented? What about China's 200-million-man army?
When did 100-pound hailstones fall from the sky? And what date was it when the Euphrates
    River dried up?

The questions are endless. Why did we have the rebirth of Israel? If Jerusalem
was forever removed from being the burdensome stone, why has it now returned to
that status? When did all the Jews shout, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of
the Lord," as Jesus said they would?

After being so strict in their interpretation of Matthew 24:34, preterists then
run roughshod over many clear statements of Scripture. They say that although the
"resurrection" happened in 70 AD, the bodies of Christians were left in the grave.

Preterists take the dangerous step of spiritualizing all passages of Scripture
that relate to the nation of Israel, and claim that these refer to the church, the
"New Israel." They teach that the "old earth," which Scripture says will pass away,
is the Old Covenant. The new heaven and new earth, they say, is the New Covenant,
and the "elements," which Scripture says will burn with fervent heat when this happens,
are the "elements of the law."

Preterism produces some bizarre explanations for why the world is still experiencing
suffering and calamity. One explanation I ran across cited God's need for population
control as the reason for mankind's suffering. Here is what one preterist author
    wrote:

"I believe that people are born and people die. Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall.
God is the providential population controller. He brings famine, disease, natural
catastrophes, wars and tumults. One-third of the population of Europe was destroyed
by the Black Plague in the early part of this millennium. Eight hundred fifty thousand
were killed in the 1556 earthquake in the Shanghai province of China. Two million
were killed in World War II. Thirteen million were killed under Stalin and 6 million
under Hitler. God is very equipped to control population."

"What is Freedom?": Preached by John Hagee, Cornerstone Church - Sermon Notes By AJSktrgl *

    • Freedom...What is freedom?

    • A bird in the cage may think it’s free. How free are you really?

    • No such thing as absolute freedom.

      • Oceans do not have freedom…oceans are controlled by the hand of God.
      • Men don’t have freedom…hemmed in by men.

    • We’re forced to live w/ each other. In the past if you didn’t like where you were living (In the United States, hundreds of years ago) you moved to a different piece of land and called it “Smithville, Greenville, or whatever to suit what you wanted, but now, there is no place to move to be isolated from others to start your own town. No matter where you move to, you encounter the same type of problems.

    • Unfortunately, the Church of Jesus Christ is not doing a very good job of loving neighbors as yourself. Churches are divided by racism, fighting over doctrine, etc.
    • When you open the bible you read about the blood bought church, not about rich/poor believers, but the triumphant church.

    • We measure other books by the Bible, not the other way around.

    • If you’re rich and you show up to Church in an Armani suit, you better treat the poor person next to you like a prince/princess, because she/he is your sister/brother in Christ.

    • Why do you want freedom? If it means absence from authority, you don’t know what freedom is. If you use God’s name in vain, you are going straight to hell. What good is freedom if all you are going to do is criticize other people; you are doing Satan’s work. No benefit of freedom of speech if all you do is gossip. Power of life and death is in the tongue, you can crucify others (especially their character) by your tongue. You will be condemned or justified by what you say.

    • Any wrong choices you make are done on purpose. You don’t become a drug addict or addicted to pornography without choice. You are what you are because of the choices you make.

    • There is a high price for freedom from fidelity (freedom to Divorce, such as Divorces due to “irreconcilable differences”). The price is that the children suffer, and etc.

    • How the United Stated has defined freedom: The United States has endorsed laziness and called it welfare. We have polluted the air with pornography and profanity and called it freedom of speech. We have tolerated the killing of children through abortion and called this freedom.

    • Whoever is in a position within the Government needs to do whatever they can to make a difference. As stated in scriptures, when 2 or 3 of you come together, God shows up.
Matthew 18:19-20 (New American Standard Bible)

19"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, (A)it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.

20"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, (B)I am there in their midst." [biblegateway.com]

    • Through the power of the Word of God I am free from the past, condemnation, etc.

    • Freedom never comes to the expense of your conscience (True freedom will never violate your conscience). Conscience is a God given instrument of discernment. God give you the ability to discern right from wrong through your conscience. Reason and intellect will justify what conscience can do.

    • You are never free until you voluntarily are mastered by the One greater than yourself. If you don’t do this, you will be miserable. Take up your cross and follow Jesus.

    • Through love, become servants to one another. You are not free until you are servant to God the Father. There is no Freedom except the will of God. All other Freedom is an illusion.
